Our Almond Frangipane Tart is a light creation made out of a sweet almond-based mixture, layered over a delicate buttery biscuit base, swirled with cherry jam, slowly baked so as not to disturb the delicate nature that Almonds are known for. Frangipane is one of those classic French pastry preparations, made out of almonds and sugars, created in France in the 17th century for King Louis XIV. It later took up its name 'frangipani' after the Marquis Frangipani, who at the time was famously known for having created a plumeria flower-scented perfume.
